Is it common? What stuff could happen if a jailer do not like you? Are prisoners really pit against each other? Silent and bumperjack I know the forum would appreciate your inputs.

They can, will and have made inmates stay more uncomfortable...on the other hand they need to tread lightly because alot of prison guards have been murdered. They can set you up get in your face and make you go off I've personally have attacked 2 guards and assaulted them, one in San Quentin and a black Lt. In Avenal both of them assaults took place in the1980's.

In Corcoran back in the days the COs set up gladiator fights. In those all concrete rectangular yards.

Black v Sur, Norte v Sur, White v Norte, White v Black etc etc.

It all came to a halt, per se, when Preston Tate was shot n killed. Another CO decided to go rogue and spill the beans. So yes, those fuckers are corrupt. They bet, made bets, put the best fighters versus one another etc. bad shit..

Also, in L.A county jail, I remember there were certain COs known as 'prowlers', mean vicious COs looking for contraband and setting ppl up. Putting certain inmates in modules and cell blocks they weren't supposed to be housed in. Bad shit.

We have a policy of respecting the CO's that way they don't bother us! Its all just a game of manipulation but it works. If you get lippy they just might tear up the building. Then all the contraband that everyone has gets found. We find it easier to simply let them do their thing and they generally leave us alone. I have seen some incidents in my time though. Usually it was Black or White inmates acting dumb. It always ends up with them getting their belongings trashed. Sometimes they get removed to the hole as well. In Santa Clara county, the elevator ride is famous. They take you in there and beat your ass because there are no cameras, Lol! For the most part the CO' s don't mess with us. We give them respect to do their job and they give us space to do our thing. Its an unwritten code but that is usually how it goes. Yes, in Corcoran there was some betting going on. In general that is not the norm though. In my experience they pretty much just do their job and leave us alone! If your stupid enough to get smart with them though then they will definitely make your life hell. Even that only goes so far though. In general all inmates will jump on someone quick if they get to far out of line! We all universally know that. Once I was in a dorm setting and someone wrote a note with a death threat on it and put it in their box. We seen the goon squad hit the yard! They made everyone strip butt naked and walk out onto the yard. They searched us and then went inside and trashed the place! At the end of it they told us why they did it! The message was loud and clear. Police your own or we will tear your house up! It worked! All kinds of people lost things like tattoo guns, ink, porn pictures and various items of contraband that we were not supposed to have. As I said before if you respect them they will keep that kind of stuff to a minimum! All the groups got together and had a powwow. It was agreed upon from that point forward that nobody was to do stupid shit like that again! Another time I was in a cell living situation and some guy got got smart. The Co literally had dude stand there while he was tossing his belongings off the tier! When you see that kind of stuff you get the message loud and clear. Stay out of their way and let them do their job. If you do that they will not mess with you! It was F-ed up watching his letters, pictures and personal belongings splatter all over the floor below! I only had one real incident that was kind of bad with the co's. I was being transferred from one prison to another. They want absolute dead silence on the bus ride. The guy next to me took a nap. He woke up and asked where we were. I gave him a quick answer and they flipped out! They put our belongings back on the grey goose to be shipped else where and thrown in the garbage! Dude that was the one who asked me the question reported it to the sergeant at the new prison. He went out to the bus and got our bags off of there before they had a chance to take off! That was probably the worst thing that ever happened to me! I have had my house searched of course it happens to everyone. No big deal though! As I said before it is a matter of Northern policy to not deal with the k9's at all! We don't speak with them. our whole philosophy is give them a wide berth of room to do their thing and they will generally leave us alone! Remember though anyone can get got! That includes Co's! If they really start to disrespect someone it will lead to confrontation. Especially on them 3 and 4 yards where people have a lot less to loose! If you are doing all day all you got left is your word and your respect! Thats it! Chances are you wont let anyone step to far out of line! I have witnessed guards getting smashed! It does not happen to often but is does happen. I guarantee you they learn from the experience to. Give respect and it usually comes right back to you. cross that line and you may get away with a time or two but eventually you are going to try that one guy who just does not care. We are all human, we all bleed red! Feel me! I dont care who you are, if somebody wants to hurt they can! Convicts got all day long to figure out how to get you!

Reason I ask is because I was thinking what if these prisons were set up to produce violence. In a sense there's some thruth to it because if we compare it to prisons in other countries like Norway who really do rehabilitate.

I am not sure that rehabilitate is what is on their mind. It is starting to change though. Most states are starting to try rehab instead of prison for drug offenses. I wouldn't be surprised if weed was completely legal in all 50 states ten years from now. I will say this, if they left prison only to the violent criminals, sex offenders and theirs, you wouldn't have much left! Most prisoners are involved in drugs one way or the other! If you treat the root cause of addiction you more longer have the criminal. Makes more sense right! That would mean shutting prisons down though. It would also weaken a powerful prison guard union! Incarceration is big business! There are definitely those who have a vested interest in seeing the status quo remain the same! Only time will tell how the world looks at these issues though. Personally, I am all for rehab. I consider drugs a mental health issue not a criminal issue. All sending someone to prison does is ruin their ability to obtain gainful future employment and expose them to a situation where its do or die! Most people choose to participate and live rather than roll over and be taken advantage of. Sad but true! I had a good Homie get into it with a CO. He lit him up and got over a decade added on to his sentence. I know he made a real bad choice but what about that mans part in all of this? He was on the other side of the law so all he got was embarrassed. Something yo think about for sure!

I remember when of my good homies was Guamanian and got busted for tagging. Of course he was in a g-ride, etc so he took the ride to the county. He got into it w/ one of the COs and they purposefully put him in GP w/ the SouthSiders. This was mid 90s, right in the middle of the Asian green light thing. He caught the blues bad. They nearly killed him. A lot of my homies that were pinoy also caught the blues. Esp the gangster ones that Asian COs saw come in. It's like they wanted to teach the Asians a lesson or something. My homie suffered permanent brain damage from the incident. He's never been the same since.

I believe it...Yup most asian co's hate asian convicts from my experience in county. Fuck them and the horse they rode in on! They ain't righteous otherwise they'll do something about all the corruption other co's are doing.

Remember Christopher dorner rip.
