DO NOT RESPOND PEOPLE

These concepts are socially constructed and have been given much weight. What are your thoughts?

DO NOT RESPOND PEOPLE

Unread post by Christina Marie » August 9th, 2006, 8:56 pm

When someone like WINO or sicilianmafia comes on the board and posts ignorant crap I know we are all angered and want to tell them where to go. I have been guilty of it too at times. But, responding to them only provokes them more. Please, if you want to remain a member on this forum restrain yourself. Know that I or another mod is watching and will send the links to the off color posts to Alonso for review. Thanks.

But i think its hard to draw a line sometimes. I mean some posts look like pure nonsense, but their authors are serious.
I mean we were all responding to posts by Acme and BMOH of which some also fell into that category in my eyes. Should we also not respond to that kind of posts?
Well ok some posts (e.g. by Wino etc.) are just stupid complete traah, not worth responding, but some others are somewhere in between, so where is the line?

Yes there is a fine line and that line is often hard to see. All I can say is use your best judgement. Also, the ones that are here purely just to atangonize are easy to spot.

I think once you get to the point of "Fu-- you -insert racial slur- I'd kick your ass anytime anywhere" you know that the person is just trying to start trouble. Personally I feel even worse for the people that try to come in and point out the person's flaws only to do the same exact thing.

True, but if dude stuck to this "rule" he boldly posted in red...

I agree. It's very unfair to ban one person for responding while leaving five others to speak as they please.

Thats when board members should cease to respond.

When the 3 person mod panel for this section is in place I am sure they will be weeding through those who are consistently not following the board rules and recommending them to AL. Be patient.

Well Nickels is way off with some of his statements but at least his trying to discuss seriously.
