Your name is not a feminine name, but there are quite a few ladies that come on here. I hope they find this string and represent.

U RIGHT ALONSO BUT ALLOW ME 2 EXPLAIN. MY 1ST NAME STARTS with A J. MY LAST NAME STARTS with A W,(W-DUB). THATS WHERE J DUB KOMES FROM, THE HOMIES GAVE ME THAT NAME. BUT I DO HOPE OTHER FEMALES SPEAK UP ON THIS TOPIK, THAT WOULD GOOD.

Well I'm glad to see more young women are joining the site. I feel it adds balance to the discussions that goes on around here.

I would eventually like to ask some of you young ladies that are gang affiliated a few questions, just for my learning and growth. Maybe we can share some info in the near future. I'm always available for questions no matter how obscure, debates on sensitive topics, or just plain friendly advice from a positive males perspective.

1. Why did you join a gang?

2. How long have you been in the gang or affiliated?

3. Do you think it's tougher for you as a female than the guys?

4. What do you want out of life in the next 5 years?

A few to start....LOL.

1. I JOINED A GANG B'KAUSE BACK WHEN I WAS A LIL' KID I WAS A TOM BOY, AND HUNG AROUND MY BROTHER ALL THE TIME. SO I BASKIALLY JOINED FOR B'KAUSE MY BROTHER DID. AND B'KAUSE THATS WHAT I WAS SURROUND BY.

2. I BEEN IN A GANG FOR 9 YEARS.

3. I DONT THINK ITS TOUGHER, BUT I DONT THINK FEMALES GETS THE SAME RESPEKT AS MALES.

4. IN 5 YEARS I WANNA MOVE UP IN MY KOMPANY, OWN A HOUSE, AND BE ABLE TO LIVE KOMFORTABLY, AND BE IN GOOD HEALTH.

Is your brother doing well today, and does he still have a major influence over you.

Do you ever think about not being in a gang anymore? If so, what do you plan to do about it.

You do know home prices are through the roof these days over 250,000 in most So Cal neighborhoods, so you will most likely be puttin' in work on a full time job than on the streets.

Are you a high school grad? College? What is your dream job and do you know how to get it?

My brother is doin well, he settled down got married with 2 kids. he still keeps in touch with everyone from the hood and visits. my brother dont got that much influence over me anymore. ive kame to different reasons why i joined, but the one i told u earlier is the realest. my brother wishes that i dont kick it in the hood as much as i do, but hey what can he do.

Naw i dont think about "not" being in one, but ive wonder sometimes, if my life would of been different if i didnt join.

Yea i know how much houses kost now a days. i already work full time, been at my job for 16 months and im already a manager. lets just say ill be ready to buy a house in 5 years. i did graduate high school, top of my klass. went to kollege for 2 years junior college, got my degree in my field, but havent put it to use. my dream job was to have my own clothing line or be a designer.

Always strive to do better. There is a huge world out there will lot's of opportunity for you, but you do have to put in your time in the right circles for certain success.

Have you ever considered transferring your units to FDIM in Los Angeles.

To be blunt about it, being in a gang is a time waster. You waste time that you can never regain ever again. You miss out on oppotunites to meet with people that can be an asset to your cause and help you grow as an individual. Being in a gang is also a form of bottom feeding, which can make it more difficult to climb the ladders of success. So far your lucky that you only wasted 9 years of your life. Don't waste anymore years.

Always remember...bottom feeding is reserved for the fool who doesn't know any better, and from what it sounds like to me, that's not where you want to be in 5 years.

I KOULDNT DISAGREE MORE with U COMMON. MY BEING IN A GANG OR OTHER PEOPLE ISNT A "WASTE OF TIME". IT MY NOT BE THE BEST DESICION. OR MAYBE NOT THE BEST FOR SOME AND THE BEST FOR OTHERS, BUT SOMETIMES PEOPLE DONT HAVE A CHOICE.
MY DESICION WASNT THE BEST OR SMARTEST,BUT IT WAS MINE. I STILL GET RESPEKT FROM MY BROTHER, MY HOOD, AND OTHER PEOPLE, EVEN THO MY REASON BEHIND JOINING WAS BEKAUSE I WAS A FOLLOWER. AND ILL ADMIT IT,THATS EXAKTLY WHAT I WAS. BUT NOW THAT MY BROTHER HAS MOVED ON with HIS LIFE, IVE ESTABLISHED MYSELF AS A MEMBER, AND NOT SOMEONES LIL SISTER.

THIS WHOLE TIME I WENT TO HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE AND BEEN HOLDING DOWN FULL TIME JOBS, I BEEN IN A GANG. NO TIME WAS BEEN WASTED OF MY LIFE. NOW IF I WAS STEADLY HANGIN IN THE HOOD, KAUSEIN PROBLEMS, AND BEING A THUG, THAT MIGHT BE A WASTE OF TIME. IVE LEARN ALOT FROM BEING IN A GANG, IM MORE STREET SMART. AND I DONT WANNA GOT HRU LIFE USING PEOPLE TO GET AHEAD, I LIKE WORKIN FOR MINE, THE REWARD IS SWEETER.

AND I can HONESTLY SAY, I HAVE NO REGRETS.

I'm with you on it J-DUB, same goes here - you have a special education that most don't, and that is why the media and pop culture try to imitate it, but it can only be lived and learned from when you go thru it.

First of all J Dub, I'm not crackin' on you disrespectfully. I'm just a concern stranger to you, that's all. I'm glad you disagree, because you have to think about your argument...which is a good thing.

Secondly, I never said use anyone, and that's my point....you didn't understand what I meant by that statement....which already put's you at a disadvantage. That site I sent you is supposed to be a good spot. I knew a few people that went there. Might be pricey, but I believe they have financial aid.

I'm going to hash this out with Lonewolf, feel free to join in at anytime.

KOMMON, I DIDNT EVEN BOTHER TO GO TO THAT SITE. I APPREICATE YOUR KONCERN, VERY THOUGHTFUL OF A KOMPLETE STRANGER.

You miss out on oppotunites to meet with people that can be an asset to your cause and help you grow as an individual.

THAT WAS YOUR STATEMENT, AND THAT RIGHT THERE KAME OFF TO ME AS USIN PEOPLE, AND THATS NOT ME.
