"turf of Florencia"

Vermont & Gage is on the west side of the Harbor FWY

i know the greater majority of their varrio is on the East side of the 110 stretching into Huntington Park and Bell (Bear St clique)

what F13 clique is over there on that side?

i would have thought that was West Side 18th St hood on that side

then again, F13 seems to expanding more and more, where as La Diesiocho is losing ground and territory in many parts of LOS

You don't see any over there Martinez. The F13 Locos be over there near the Brims...they don't usually go near Gage kinda stop by that elementary school. 18 does alot of wall banging over there by the 52 HGC....never see any out but there is writing every now and then over that way...from Slauson to 51st.

Alot of tag banging crews over there....18 doesn't seem to have a lock on that area as it goes for eses. STV seems like the dominant 13 click from King to Slauson...

Correction....You don't see any 18's over there Martinez. The F13 Locos are over there near the Brims.

ok, that makes more sense.

i do know that Florencia 13 has a presence over there by the Brims -

and then also over the Sixties hood, but they're all F13 Locos...

to my knowledge - they're the only F13 clique west of the Harbor fwy

Those are the ones I always think about when i think F13 on that side of the Fwy

Vermont & Gage is where F13 Locos started. Headquarters is Harvard Park...the ones in the 60s originated from Brim hood....there was only a few familys living in the 60s but they hung @ the park...they are dying out in the 60s...

historically - whats the relationship like between F13 Locos and Harvard Park Brims?

@ xxx

how is it possible that the F13 presence is dying out in the 60's if the Latino population is growing on BG?

is there another Chicano gang or the kids over there are turned off to gang bangin?

No older dudes live over there to guild, their dead, deport or live else where...

The Kids over there are on Skateboards. More Skaters then Florencias....

This was never a strong hold for them. Just a satellite area, small scattered group...

C14 in the 1980s/early 90s
F13 & Raza 13 in the 1990s
F13 in the 2000s

Chicanos never laid roots, it was always in rotation. Now its the Skaters turn...

There are two distinct Florencia turf on the west side of the 110, and both these two turf seem to be growing into one big turf, but the Locos and 67th clicks over in the Rollin 60s turf from West Blvd to a little east of Crenshaw and then the one that coup mentioned in Harvard Park Brim turf from Western to Vermont from Gage to Florence.

the area between Western ave and going towards Crenshaw is not F13 turf but when more Hispanics move into that area which is mosty houses, these 2 turfs could become ONE.

F13 Locos in Brim hood and the ones living in 60 hood is one and the same. The ones that live in 60 hood have to go to the Park to get jumped in.....all there big homeboys are from the Park... They have there meetings in the park....the park is ground zero for all F13 locos....

F13 LS have members living in the Menlos, NS83, 62B and 60 hood...its not consolidated into one geographical Neighborhood. Outside.

They never could claim RSC as there hood cuz C14 was there, then Raza 13..roation with Chicanos, RSC the only gang to maintain.

C14 in 60 hood -v- F13 in Brim hood....that's how it went...

F13 never locked down turf in the 60s, there was always another gang on deck, C14, Raza 13 or random eses moving into the apartments , coming and going. There was Tepas, Santa Monica's, pkayboys, v 41st, 18st, everything came and went.....

The ones in Brim hood seem to have a bigger presence north of Gage towards Slauson. There are a few tiny gangs that seem to pop up south of Gage....STV 65th click, BPS (no idea what it stands for Brown Pride?), LAOS...

XXX I always thought that F13 had that area of Florence from Shaw to West Blvd...those apartments. I would see a few esse's over there from time to time and once in a while a big F13 strike across from the car wash on that liquor store on Florence.

Shit...what happened to Raza 13??? I forgot about them...they would tag everywhere..

We call those Apartments the Slums. It was once a 60 Hang out in the 1980's, but the Jewish Owners packed it with Paisas over the years. C14s were once in there too. Now its 99% Paisas with a few young F13s in it. The Grafitti is decieving to outsiders. There presences is minimal. more grafitti then bodies. The F13s in the 60's are hangin on by a thread. Their Vets have all retired and moved on, died or got deported. The ones in Brim Hood are having a hard time too. They are not a deep gang. The two Main F13s in the 60's that had influenced have died and got deported...there on the clock over here.....

The Raza 13s got ran out the 60's in the 1990's by the 60's & F13s....They got double teamed... Thats when F13 had a nice little run of being the only eses in town.

So the 60's have seen/expereince 3 different Chicano Gangs come and go within their territory.

C14, F13 and Raza 13.........not counting the countless ramdoms.....

Thats why you cant give any ese gang any established claims/ties in the 60's, the turn over rate kills that arguement...Most ese gangs have decades/generations in a turf they claim...the eses in the 60's are nomadic, thats just the reality of it......and they never claimed the whole entire land from Western Avenue to Ladera Park like the 60's do....always little slices or a block or two, then they evential die out.......

60's and C14 were so close that there are/were members that Tattoo RSC14 on them........

BPS is Brown Pride Surenos/Stoners, transplants from the Valley, living in NS83 & 67NH hoods, borderline with Brims, that Gage area...

If you pay attention to all the little ese gangs and crews within the 60's from the Freeway to West Blvd, its obvious F13 has no control over any giving area, they melt in with the rest of the Randoms...They used to be the dominate gang in the Area, but they where an Island to themselves, the closest rivals were 18st-54ls on Broadway, the 18st-KB on King Blvd,South Central 18st in the 74/83 Hoovers, the STV by Manual High School, the Harpeys in the 30's/20's, South x Los in the 100's and Inglewood 13.....No true Border enemies.........so they flurish in Brim hood 80's to the early 90's, taking no loses....Had the Slauson Swapmeet always struck up.....all around Slauson & Gage...look at it now, Ghost Town, the kids aint attrracted to gangs like before....the last real push they had is when they recruited the Denker Boyz, im told a football team turned gang inthe early 90's...they turned F13DBS then dropped it to become the next generation of F13LS.......

They are all Locos, but geographically it is NOT one continuous area. There is not much F13 west of Western Avenue, and F13 begins to fade east of Crenshaw.

This section of the westside has not seen a significant and consistent stream of Hispanic immigrants but as the face of LA changes, so will the gang landscape. The ETG and 60s hood probably has seen the least amount of Hispanic immigrants in their neighborhood, partially because the two turfs have a lot of single family houses that have been owned by blacks for decades. It will be a long time before Hispanics make some serious gang claims in these two area, 60s and ETG.

I do know that 71st from Crenshaw to West blvd is mostly Hispanic. My girl from back in the day was living on the block in the 1980s and you do see alot of F13 graffiti over there.

Florence isn't elusive enough to compete with 18st , at any given time some og from 18 gets out of the penn buys a new pad in some new area of LA like SC and a whole new click starts and within 5 years you got a hood there that started as a click. For some reason black hoods just seem to back up whenever that happens like in Inglewood you never heard of 18 there until the early early 90's maybe late 80's like '89. Where as other hoods like Florence are closely watched and ridiculed even by cops for some reason cops crack down harder than other hoods they seem to accept the fact that 18 is just big as fuck and can be anywhere. Florence doesn't seem to have the strength to push a click of 18 anywhere , 18's got way to much experience between fighting with ms and bloods. 18's got a lot of real killers that hit more like assassins than like gang bangers. When Florence trys to go expand and create new hoods they find 18 is already there, this is sort of what happened to clanton they tried to run from 18 but 18 always seem to be where they ran.

Check this out BG Catfish......I grew up in the Land, not no far foreign land Oceans away....

It really mind boggles me when you try to kick Street Knowledge with Authority, like you lived it, seen it, experienced it...humble your shit already, the Cat is out the bag on you.....
.

18st 54LS on Broadway shared turf with 52Broadways.

PBS shared turf with 53 Avalons across San Pedro...

18st faded out, beefing with F13s in the 6Pack & the ones in Brim hood.

55Bunch replaced 18st 54LS in Broadway hood.

No need to use Google maps or catch a bus. I was on the ground when events unfolded in the Land.

Its Crazy to me, that a French Asian who communicates in broken English, shit, broken French, can gather so much info on Streets he never ran. You were collecting info early, back when the Internet wasnt flooded with gang news. You gathering technics are highly suspected. I can't put my finger on it BG Catfish. Its a head stratcher....how did you do it?

This is nothing new wicked thoughts..

I mean if one of these 'hybrid blood/F13' (pun intended) goes to the joint, I'm sure all that jive stops.

People want to make much about Mexicans talking, listening to, dressing, etc like ninjas but it goes both ways..

Same ninjas talking shit about hat dancers, wetbacks, spic Surat 13k yada yada the same ones eating a pastrami or carne asada burrito...while they're saying wetback..
AND getting tattoos blasted FROM mexican tattoo artists, copying mexican style tats, etc..blacks never got blasted ratts like that..that's a recent thing...

And the same Mexicans saying niggerK, yada yada are the same ones bumping black rap calling thier homies nigga, etc.

It's a hypocrisy and accepted both ways. Funny characters in L.A...

These Two hoods been gaing and losing ground over the years, but it seems like eighteen.th (54tls/kbgs) have gotten bigger than f13 on the westside of south central..
From slauson 2 Vernon - figueroa 2 western it seems like it's all 18th now! They old hood on hoover/42pl is still there with a few vets but no youngster..
but dont get it twisted, f13 has the locos who have 2 sides the ones in the harvard park area and the ones by the R60s, also the MDS by 70th/Hoover but seem like they losing numbers and ground tbh..
